The prototype of this model was one of 75 built in the late 1950s, and is equipped with Spartan's Tri-Belt shipping restraints. Our model is painted boxcar red, with white reporting marks and dimensional data printed on the sides and ends. The SAL herald is printed in red and white, while the Tri-Belt herald is printed in white and yellow. The return-to data is printed in yellow and black. The car rides on Bettendorf trucks with Micro-Trains couplers. All profits from the auctions of SAL 21601 were donated to the American Red Cross. Made in U.S.A.
