| X72 Production Delayed Saturday, August 4, 2018 12:29 am At the end of July, a major Chinese contractor of model railroad products closed its factory. Eastern Seaboard Models is affected peripherally by this turn of events in that we sourced the contractor for secondary components. At this time, we have alternate suppliers for all but one of these components. We have a number of viable options in replicating this component, which we are in the process of exploring. While this will delay the next release of our X-series product line, as the component is critical to the models, we do not anticipate a lengthy delay. Our original target release date was the end of 4th quarter this year, and we believe we will have product around the end of 1st quarter next year. The tooling for the X72 body as been completed and approved. As soon as we have confirmed a plan of action on the missing component, we will commence production on the next X-release. |
