On The Horizon

Beginning next year, ESM will offer a holiday series of rolling stock.  The first release will be on the XIH Boxcar with roofwalk and charcoal heater.  The model is a year away, but in the spirit of the holiday season here is a screenshot of the preliminary artwork.

The roofwalk/heater-equipped model will be painted white with red ends and a green underframe; decorated in red, green, black, silver and yellow print; and feature Micro-Trains® trucks in green and couplers in red.  The reservation period will begin in August 2011.

The next offering in the Sovereign Modelers Series™ will be another exquisite limited-run masterpiece by Tom Mann, utilizing the XIH Boxcar decorated in the original Magor BAR scheme with a car number not available in the regular line.

Watch for the official announcement, along with the super-sized super-detailed version of the photo above, within the next couple of weeks.  Other items have been in development for the series for over a year, which we hope to bring to market in 2011.  More details to follow as release dates become firm.

In Development

Two YouTube videos have been posted that show testing of the two Pennsy X58 Boxcar rapid prototype models.  Modifications currently are being made to the digital models to correct any discrepancies between the common features of the body variations, and first draft samples of the etched parts will be reviewed late next month.  The target release date for the X58 is December 2011.
