Product News

We start off the new year with the news that the first two runs of the XIH Boxcars have sold out. Eventually, all of the schemes will be rerun with new reporting marks. All roadnames and schemes of the G26 Mill Gondola remain available both online and at your dealer. Watch for a new G26 product video on YouTube later this month.

The Sovereign Modelers Series™ features another magnificent limited-run masterpiece by Tom Mann, utilizing the XIH Boxcar decorated in the original Magor BAR scheme with a car number not available in the regular line.

The model is an ESM website exclusive only. Grab it while it's hot! Watch for additional items in the series later this year.

On The Horizon

Paint and print samples of the next two releases of the XIH Boxcar have arrived for approval.

The reissued schemes are #2252 Bangor and Aroostook "State of Maine" (1953), #2253 New Haven "State of Maine" (1953) and #2258 Conrail.

The reissued schemes with modifications depicting a later timeframe are #2255 Bangor and Aroostook repaint (1974) and #2253 New Haven repaint (1975).

The all-new schemes are #2259 Canadian Pacific w/stacked herald (1959), #2260 Bangor and Aroostook in dedicated service (1978), #2262 Bangor & Aroostook "State of Maine" repaint (1957), #2263 Canadian Pacific w/script herald (1967) and #2264 Okee Inc (1971).

The two New Haven repaint samples have errors that need correcting, but the other samples show how the production cars will be decorated. As of now, the cars remain on schedule. Package samples are due in next month. The third release is scheduled for late first quarter 2011. The fourth release is scheduled for mid second quarter 2011. Photos of the fully assembled models will be in either the February or March issue of the newsletter, depending upon when they arrive next month.

In Development

Work slowed on the X58 boxcar while the focus shifted on moving the next releases of the XIH Boxcar into production, yet remains on schedule for release at the end of this year. The two YouTube videos showing various testing of the rapid prototype models remain available for viewing.
